About Web Logs

So what is a weblog, anyway? Generally speaking, according to Dan Gilmour in his book "Making the News" : it's an online journal comprised of links and postings in reverse chronological order, meaning the most recent posting appears at the top of the page.

Weblogs typically link to other websites and blog postings, and many allow readers to comment on the original post, thereby allowing audience discussions.

Blogs allow the writer to express his opinions on a whole range of subjects. For advocacy purposes, blogs can be written on:

   - political issues

   - personal events

   - good news stories

   - innovation

   - stories that are unlikely to make the international press

and so on.

Further, by registering your blog in a blog catalog, such as Myblog2u, Blogorama, BlogCatalog, LS blogs etc, one can get increased distribution and readership plus the possibility of getting your stories into the newspapers.
